Kitchen updates

Well it has been a week and a lot has happened:)

We got the plumbing moved with no leaks. The duct work moved and connected- Seth's room was disconnected in 2 different places- that would explain why his room was so cold. The cabinets removed from one spot and moved to where they will be from now on. They are not screwed in yet because the breakfast wall is not ready for that yet. The lazy susan and the Pantry got put in, the are not stained yet because we are not totally sure what we are going to do with all of the cabinets yet.The dishwasher is moved to the right place:) now the dishwasher can be loaded/unloaded and not get in the way of the oven and me cooking dinner! The frame for the ceiling, the wall next to the fridge and the 1/2 wall for the breakfast bar are all framed. And the beam is in place and holding the whole house still:)

I feel like we don't have a lot to do to finish it but I know it will take a lot of time because Billy started his new job today and we will have to do bits and pieces here and there! But we need to finish the drywall for all 3 walls, find tile for the floor, put the wood floor in the dining room, build the breakfast bar counter top,
get new counter tops for the rest of the cabinets, and put up the track lighting lights over the bar area. Of course now I have so many more ideas of what to do in the rest of the house- but I think I will give Billy a break:)

I still laugh that this all started with a simple let's take down a wall. Don't you love what you find when you start digging into your house about lazy builders. When my parents did theirs, you should have seen the holes they found behinds some cabinets.

It's all looking great, and I can't believe you lived through it! Did you eat out a lot that week?

It is even worse than that- all I wanted to do was remove the carpet and put in the hardwood floors:0
It is amazing how lazy builders are- we found all kinds of trash behind out cabinets the must think that the owners will never want to change this so who cares!
Yes we did eat out a lot:( I had Sienna 2 of the days we worked so I was able to make breakfast and Lunch everyday for the kids and us which was nice:) But we had a lot of helpers and I didn't think they would want to eat Mac n cheeses and spaghetti o's for dinner:)
