This past weekend!

I know it is almost time for a new weekend and I am just talking about our last weekend! Better late than never I guess.

So this past weekend we had a lot of fun. On Saturday we went to the Arapahoe County Fair. We went with Aunt Britt, Britt and Uncle Travis and Jessica. We had a lot of fun. Mikayla and Billy were the only ones who could go in the fun house because the rest of us wore open toed shoes. I know, I know who wears flip flops to the fair? They had a great time- then we went on the carousel and only Seth wanted to sit on a horse and that only lasted for a second. Then Mikayla found the games and she wanted to play, so we found the ones that no matter what you won a prize. First she played the fishing game (my favorite from when I was little, I remember going to Elitches and playing that game, I think I would play it over and over if I could. No skill involved= me having a great time) She won a purple and green turtle. Next she played the hunting for ducks game. All she had to do was pick a duck up and see what color she got. That time she won a blue blow up soccer ball. They both were her favorite! Seth got a cute little ducky just for being cute:) Next we went into the house of Mirrors. It was fun Mikayla was leading the way and ran right into a clear panel- we all laughed and she was OK. The we went and looked at the animals. First the petting zoo and then we went inside to see the show animals. This was Mikayla's favorite when it was time for the animals to go to sleep she cried and only said "I need my Animals" Then we went and listened to some music and the kids ran around like crazy Monkey's- well Seth crawled- but still had fun. The fireworks got canceled because of High Fire Danger, but we still had a great time.

And then on Sunday we went to the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival. I did not take any pictures it was too hot and the kids were kind of cranky. We went with Uncle Brandon, Uncle Travis, Jessica, Aunt Britt, and Cody. Travis did take pictures and I should get them soon and I will put them up. It was fun to be immersed in the Asian culture. Mikayla got an umbrella and Brandon and Billy got funny Chinese hats. The actual races were few and far between. They were fun when they were happening but they went fast and then took along time to get another one started. It was fun but way to HOT! But it was the end of July what could I expect! All in all it was a great weekend! And this next weekend we have a wedding to go to for our good friends Shannon and Dustin! We can't wait!- maybe this time we will get a good family picture!

Birthday Fun!

So Mikayla turned 3 on Sunday. I can't believe that she is 3. Where does the time go?

Her theme this year was Cars. Everything was cars. We had 40 some guests and 100 degree heat! Because her Birthday is in July 2 out of the three have been pool parties in our back Yard. We set up tents and have 3 different pools and a slip-n-slide and the kids have a blast. This year we had 12 kids come (the biggest so far) they had so much fun sliding down the slide into the Pool. The adults had fun on the slip-n-slide. It was hot but I think I did a good job of getting the food done so everyone could eat and then we dried the kids off and opened presents inside. The we did cake and went back outside to hit the pinata. Then it was over and people could do what they wanted. I had a lot of fun- I was just tired of people complaining of the heat! I can't change that and it is not like July has changed- it is always hot:) And I always wanted a Summer birthday so that it would be hot and we could play in the water all day:) I think the kids loved it and I know Mikayla loved it and that is all that counts!

She got so many toys and clothes- she still has toys that she has not opened yet! She is close- I am trying to keep some so that they are new when she is ready for something new. then I can start rotating them:) Seth is now ready to play with some of her old toys so I can't really get rid of anything yet. Every morning since her birthday she wakes up and asks "Is today my birthday?" It is so cute. She really loves being the center of attention:)

And now I need to start planing another one Seth turns 1 in 6 weeks!

Happy 1st Birthday Emily!

I love America!

We got this flag in our yard this morning. Mikayla asked me what it was and "what you do with it?". So I told her that it is very special and that you wave it around and say "I Love America". And that is what she did- She got her flag shirt on and ran around the house yelling "I Love America" Here is a little of it for you:)

We do love America! Happy 4th of July to you all!!

What have we been up to?

Time for another update! We have been pretty busy.
We decided to try something new every weekend. So 2 weeks ago we took a day trip to Castlewood Canyon. We went with Sierra, Ryan and Jaden. We found a little water spot and let the kids have fun! We didn't take swim suits or anything so we stripped them down to their undies and let them have fun. Seth just wanted to eat the sand. He is crazy- now that he is crawling and pulling him self up she does not want to be held. He wants to explore everything. Then we went into town and had some lunch. It was fun- it took a while but the chicken was good!

Then this weekend we went to Aurora Reservoir and played at the "Beach". Mikayla had a blast running all around and playing in the sand with her new sand toys. She did not like when she got wet and then had sand all over her feet, but she got over that quickly. Seth wanted to eat the sand again. This time we took the Pack-n-play and he sat in that and played with toys and had a good time. I don't think he realized he was not in the sand.

Yesterday we tried a new pool by our house. Lookout Park and Pool. It was fun they have a big toddler pool a water slide and a big regular pool. Seth liked to splash in the water. He did take a break to eat and drink a bottle but then he was ready to go again. Mikayla has really shown a big interest in swimming lately. She was jumping in and trying to put her face in the water. The funniest thing was when we would tell her to hold her breath she would put her hand around her neck. We had a lot of fun. Mikayla was to short to ride on the slide but Billy and I went on it and it was fun!

In a few days Seth will turn 10 months old. He is growing like crazy. Getting into everything and keeping all of us on our toes. Mikayla is actually taking an interest in him and plays with him at times. She also trys to be the boss of him. It is funny how they already know how to "bother" each other. Seth knows how to push Mikayla's buttons and really make her mad. And Mikayla just knows how to push Seth. I know one day it will drive me crazy but right now I am just glad that they know the other exists.
