Great question!! I can not believe how long it has been since I have written anything on here. We have done so much. We went on Vacation to Minnesota and saw my Family from My Dad's side and some friends that use to live here in Colorado.
Mikayla had her first sleep over with Kelsi. It was so cute, they decided to sleep in the living room in sleeping bags. Mikayla wondered where we went but when right back up stairs. She told me she wanted to "Sleep in her Big Brother's sleeping bag." It was so cute. They fell asleep around midnight and woke up with the Sun. After we got up and dressed we went to breakfast and then to the Zoo. The kids got to see the sharks eat lunch and pet lion sharks. They had a great time together and were so sad and tired to leave each other.
We
then drove to my Uncle Jay and Aunt Barb's house to stay the rest of the week. That night we went to the Mn State fair. It was amazing. It was huge and so much food. I had everything from pronto pups (corn dogs with pancake batter) to chocolate covered bacon to fried fruit on a stick. I loved most of it. Mikayla loved it too- everything she saw she said "I want that- ohh that looks yummy!" This picture shows her with a snow cone in one hand and stuffing her face with a smore with the other. Then we rode on some kid rides and now we have an adrenaline junkie. We finished the night off with a fireworks show. Seth slept through it:)
Tuesday we went out the the boat with cousin Karin and had a blast. Mikayla got to drive most of the time, she thought that was awesome!! We stopped at a playground and played for a while and then went to eat lunch. Later that night we went to dinner with my other Aunt and Uncle; Jerry and Sharron. It was on a boat that was on the Mississippi river. Big barges filled with grain went up the river and a few boats floated down. It was really neat to see the St. Paul city lights at night too.
Wednesday we spent all day at the fair. It was so much fun we ate all kinds of food again, and my Dad won Mikayla 2 stuffed animals that are as big as her:) It was fun getting them home! We also got to see all kinds of animals. Mikayla got to see pig #6 being born. We missed the lamb's birth by 3 minuets and the cow's birth by about 15 minutes. It was so cool to see all of the baby chicks peck their way out of the egg shells. Seth even got to pet a baby duckling!
Wednesday night we ate dinner with my cousin Leif- he is so funny it was fun to see him. he had to work a lot so we didn't get to see him as much as we wanted to.
Thursday My dad went golfing so we took Mikayla to the Mall of America to ride the rides. She had a blast. Brittany and Karin met us and Notasha and Kelsi and Tanner came also. It was so much fun. The had great adult rides and super fun kid rides. Tosh would watch the kids for Billy and I so we could ride some rides too. Mikayla's favorite was the Wonder Pets ride. She rode that thing like 6 times.
Friday it was time to go home. Mikayla was very sad, I think she really liked spending so much time with Grandpa and Penny and Jay and Barb. She is still talking about some of the things she did with them or what she saw at their house.
It was a much needed vacation, but I needed one for when we got home too- That is the hardest part of coming home- unpacking and getting back to our old schedule!
