Stock Show!!

So Mikayla has gone to the Stock Show every year of her life (a total of 3 times now). This year was the best. She pet cows and goats and pigs. She said "Yee-haw" when she saw a Cowboy, and clapped when the Cowboys stayed on for 8 seconds. She got worried when the horses fell down( 2 times this happened and one of the times it was a miracle that it did not kill the cowboy) and when a cowboy roped a cow so hard that he had to be carried out on a stretcher. Her favorite part was what she thought was Mikayla service. Every time one of the vendors came by yelling; "Popcorn, Peanuts, Snow cones," or even "Ice cold beer get your ice cold beer here" Mikayla thought that it was for her and she would say "Mommy I want that" we got her cotton candy, and she did not like that. She wanted peanuts but our friend Jaden is allergic and then she got a snow cone and ate that so fast that she kept holding her head but refused to take a break.

All in all it was a great time. Her and Jaden loved cheering on the Cowboys and the cows! They really liked the motorcycle act and the laser show. Seth is turning into his sister more and more, he slept through almost the whole thing I guess he was awake for more than Mikayla was he even watched the horses and was talking to them. Mikayla's first show she slept through everything even the guns shots at the beginning of the show!

I should have something to say....

I don't know what it is about today but I have nothing to say. I

haven't had anything to say all week:( I have no cute stories about my kids, well at least none that I can think of. I have been potty training Mikayla and yesterday our friend Sierra and Jaden came over and we had a potty party. It was pretty funny, Jaden is 2 months older than Kayla and she decided that she needed to go potty. So she strips down and sits down. By the way our potty is in the living room so that it is a constant reminder. So she is sitting waiting and Jaden comes over and says "push your penis down Kayla" Mikayla looks at him and is really confused. He looks at her and gets really confused and asks " Where is your penis?" I tell him that Mikayla is a girl and she doesn't have one. So then he looks at me and asks if I have one and I tell him I am a girl and I don't have one either and then we had to go over all of the people we know and say if they are a boy or a girl. I think he has the hang of it! Then for the rest of the night they took turns going potty. The good news is neither of them had an accident. It was a good night and then this morning Kayla woke up and said she had to go potty. I can't wait until she is out of diapers. It will be nice to not have to spend $40 every two weeks on diapers for the both of them!

I am so tired this week. I think everything is catching up to me now. I just want a good nights sleep. Seth is still waking up at least once a night. Billy has been really good at getting him and feeding him, but I still hear it and it always seems to be when I am in my deepest sleep. And then it takes me a while to get back to sleep. Waking up at 6:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays is not really my style. I am not a morning person and really neither is Mikayla.

Well for not having a lot to say I guess I did. I know I will have more to tell after this weekend because we are going to the Stock Show tomorrow and Seth is getting baptized on Sunday!

Late night diaper changes that go bad!

So last night somehow Seth's diaper was not fastened all the way so when he peed it managed to cover himself from the waste up. Well Billy got up to feed him (which was really nice because I have been sick) And I heard a lot of noise and it was not happy. I heard Billy yelling "why" and Seth crying. It took him 10 minutes to get back into our room. I didn't want to see what was going on because I was afraid that Billy was throwing a fit because he really wanted me to take over. So he comes in and is telling me what happened and I got up to go change the sheets because he made it sound like Seth was almost drowning in his own pee. I get into Seth's room and the sheets are still on the mattress and I ask where did he pee? Billy yells back "ALL OVER, "I said all over where and he says his head. So I laugh and and say at least we didn't have to change the sheets.

The reason we didn't have to change the sheets was because I had a extra spit-up pad under his head for the reason that if he spit-up in the middle of the night I would not have to change the sheets. Who knew it would work for late night diaper changes that go wrong.

Maybe I shouldn't take up new sports...

What was I thinking???

Monday I went skiing for the first time in

5 years and 2 babies. Of course I took a blue run first and all

I could think of was " How am I going to change diapers with a broken arm or how am I going to

go up the stairs with a broken leg?"

I made it down, every time I started to go too fast I would make my self fall. After that I took only Green runs. I did much better except for one turn, my ski's crossed and down I went. At least I have this cool bruise to show for it!! It only hurts when I touch it, so it is better than a broken bone!

2nd day of preschool!

So today was much better. Mikayla and I did not cry. We both were very excited. I even got her first art work. I think she is going to go somewhere big with her "Dot Art" I mean look at the use of color:). I am so glad that she is happy and making friends. When she walked into class today her friend Jaden said "Hi Kayla" and Mikayla responded with "Hi Jaden". It was so cute I almost cried, but they would have been happy tears!

First Day of PreSchool

So today was a huge day in my life as a Mother. Mikayla went to her first day of preschool. It is only 2 days a week for 3 hours a day. Of course I thought that was going to be the longest 3 hours of my life. Billy and I took her in, at first she was excited to see her friend Jaden and then she got a little shy because there were other kids and new teachers. Then it was time to say goodbye. She gave Daddy a hug and kiss goodbye and then when I gave her kisses she started to cry. I told the teacher that this is her first time away from us and she has only had family babysit her. The wonderful Miss Sally jumped into action and grabbed the class pet and showed it to her. Mikayla continued to cry but sat in her lap. Then I left. I was doing Ok until I got out of the classroom and then the tears just came rolling down my face. I felt so dumb, it was only for 3 hours.. I had to remember how much I could get done in 3 hours and how I could spend time with just Seth and it was going to be great for both of us. And then I thought but she is my little girl she can't be big enough to go to school.

Time went by so fast, we got home and Billy had to go to work and I had to get grocery shopping it still is a Tuesday!!! It was really weird to not have little Kayla asking every question known to man about every person we see in the store. It was fun just Seth and I, it reminded me of Mikayla and I when she was a baby and we would go to the store and then I though how cool is it that I get to spend one on one time with both of my kids!!!

We got home and it was time to go get Mikayla. We got to her school and she was sitting in circle time on her own and not crying!! I felt great, I knew she could do it!! She ran up to me and gave me a big hug. I asked her what she did in school and she said "I Whaaa Whaaa" and I said your cried and she said "yes but now Kayla no crying" I laughed and asked if she had fun she said Yes and said she wanted to come back. I talked to the teacher and she said that she only cried for the first hour and by the end of the day she was playing and even dancing!! I am so proud of her and I am glad that she is a Big Girl!!!!

Too much Fun!

As Mikayla was playing with her new "Cars" toy Seth was playing on his activity mat. They both were having a great time, I thought "Wow I should clean the kitchen floor". Every now and then I would hear "Ooh Ah" from Seth, and Mikayla's toy would talk and she would say "The King wins Mommy" and I would answer "way to go "The King"". Well it started out to be the floor and then the counter tops and then the highchair... and the kids were playing so nice and quiet. I ran downstairs to switch the laundry and Mikayla came to help. I ran back up stairs and this is what I found. A Peaceful Baby sleeping.. It is amazing how they can fall asleep anywhere! Of course I did not touch him. So today he took his morning nap in the living room!

You Rock!!

Rock Out!!!

Billy got a new guitar for Christmas. He is pretty good for not being able to read music. Him and his Friend Brandon are going to learn how to play together. Brandon is getting a keyboard!! The best part about Billy's guitar is that you can plug headphones into it and not have to hear him rock out or hit a wrong note!! It is nice to hear him when he plays quietly, but he says he can't play like that he has to play it loud. Mikayla likes it sometimes but she really likes the picks. She carries one in her pocket everywhere we go. Just like Daddy. Seth just sits and smiles as Daddy plays and sometimes he even falls asleep to it.

This night we were just hanging out and Mikayla wanted to hear "Cars" not Daddy playing. I don't know why he was wearing this outfit but I thought he looked the part of a rock star!! Camo Shots and Snow Boots what more could a rock star need?
