New Hall of Life at Museum of Nature and Science

One hot afternoon this summer we went to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. They have redone the hall of life and it took us 4 times to pick a day to go that had times open to go and see it. Brittany and I took the kids. We had heard about the aging machine and were excited to see ourselves looking 70 years old. The line was really long and Brittany took the kids to play and look at other things while I stood in line. They have a T.V. hanging on the wall that shows everybody your results. It was interesting to see everyone before me until one girl (young and pretty) did it and did not look so pretty- I don't know why but right there I decided I was standing in line for Brittany- she could do it:) Then it was close to our turn and Brittany came back with the kids- she saw someones results and said Nope not gonna do it. So we thought lets see if it will read Mikayla's face and then we can see what she will look like! It did and wow it is weird how it works- I still don't think I will put my face in there but I would like to see other people I know do it- here is Mikayla's face at age 45 and at 70

So then we went to look at the rest of the exhibits and I was standing in line for this one that you walk across the floor and it gives you information about your walk. I did not see where Seth was and I turned to look at the t.v.s behind me and I saw this little kid that looked just like Seth I asked Brittany if that was him and she said yes- he saw another kid walk through and he just took off- I felt bad for the person he cut in front of but it is amazing how real it is! Sorry it is blurry- it moves for the next person to be on the screen. Seth is the middle and Mikayla is on the right!

Next we went to play in the activity room and they had a huge wall of little sticks that you can put things in on one side and you see the image on the other- I don't know the name:( But here are Mikayla and Seth's faces:

We had a great time and I can't wait to go back and play with all of the other exhibits!

First baseball game for Seth

This August we went to a Rockies game! It was a lot of fun! It was Seth's first game. He has really been into sports and I was excited to take him to this game. I have not been following the Rockies, I try to go to a game once a year and that is it. Well the Rockies were up to bat and a Guy named Seth Smith was batting. I was so excited to see another Seth:) And I yelled Go Seth and my Seth got really excited and thought it was really cool that we were all cheering for him. He learned to Swing the bat, catch the ball and trow the ball:) It was super cute and I am glad we went! Who knows maybe Seth Fischer will be a baseball player! All of Billy's friends think he will be a famous skateboarder or Motorcycle pro- that to me means lots of heart attacks for Mom:)

Seth is a big boy!!!

I am so proud of my kids this summer! I am always proud but they are really growing up and it is awesome that I don't miss a second of it!

Seth is potty trained! I have to give credit to Billy because he got him to pee on the potty first! One night he set him on the potty and pored water on his "pee pee" and Seth went. We were all so excited that Seth thought it was awesome and wanted to do it again! A few days went by and he was still needing the water but he was going anywhere and everywhere! It was great. Then one day he told me "Poop" and I rushed him to the potty and he peed! I was so proud of him for telling me that he had to go! We have had a few accidents but for the most part he is doing awesome! He loves his big boy undies and I think he is happy to be out of the sweaty diapers! He still wears a pull up to bed and during nap times but other than that he is good to go!
Oh and yes- he really never wears clothes now!!! It is easier for me to remember to take him to the bathroom when he is running around naked! And it is less laundry that I have to do!

Mikayla Swimming

So one of the things Mikayla learned to do this summer was to swim by her self! WE went to Grandma Aunties house almost every Friday this summer and would swim for at least an hour. Last year she wouldn't leave the kiddie pool, this year we got her floaties and watched what happened! First she would practice in the kiddie pool and then I would hold her in the big pool. Every time I would make her try a little on her own- it would freak her out until one time she grabbed onto the edge of the pool. So then for a few weeks she would just hold onto the side of the pool and say she was swimming and go all over the edge. Then one week, about 3 weeks ago, I asked her to swim to me- I was kind of far away but still close- she let go of the wall and realized she wasn't going to sink. Ever since then she has been a swimming fool. WE went swimming 4 days in a row because she wanted to swim so bad. She will even jump into the pool all by herself with no one to catch her. It is awesome so see her so proud of her self! Now I need to get her into swim lessons so she can practice all winter!
